The founder and creative director behind Mama Monkey is Kimberley Smith - the proud mama of three little monkeys of her own! With a degree in apparel design, Kimberley has extensive experience of the fashion design industry; she worked for several years as a designer for the Nordstrom and Eddie Bauer brands, and ran her own successful business designing and creating wedding dresses and formal wear for eight rewarding years.

As a mother, Kimberley experienced firsthand the frustration of shopping around for baby clothes that are both fun and functional. Tired of never finding what she wanted, she decided to pool her design and business expertise to fill the void by designing and creating her own Mama Monkey line of hip but practical clothing and accessories for little monkeys and their mamas.

All Mama Monkey children's bodysuits and t-shirts are designed and hand-printed by Kimberley in her home studio, using only high quality materials. She has also now extended her Mama Monkey line to include additional handcrafted items created by other independent designers and artisans. These items have been carefully selected and quality assured by Kimberley to ensure that they meet her safe and sassy, fun and functional criteria!
